A friend of mine in Sri Lanka has forwarded me a copy of your June 2009 Bulletin. The photographs and commentary on Matara were of particular interest as I was born, and spent the early years of my life, there. If you have any more photos of Matara, I would love to see them.
ReplyDeleteI would like to subscribe to your Bulletin and receive future publications. If there is a subscription to be made, I shall be in Colombo in late July and can make then. Alternatively, I can mail you a cheque on a Colombo bank.
Thanks and regards,
Luke Pereira
Dear Mr Pereira
ReplyDeleteThere is no subscription and shall add your name to our mailing list and send you the previous bulletins on Monday.
Shall also send you a mailer about our latest publication ELOQUENCE IN STONE. THE LITHIC SAGA OF SRI LANKA. We do have more photographs of Matara and the region. You are most welcome to come to the Studio and see them when you visit in July.
Thank you for your email -- it is heartening to receive such responses.
Best regards,
Anu

ReplyDeleteIn reference to the above kindly give me a moment of your time to briefly introduce Columbus Tours to you…
Columbus Tours is an IATA approved Destination Management Company with special emphasis on incentives, conferences, special interest groups; also geared to handling niche market tour operators, individual/personalized tours, tailor made to suit each client's every little whim and fancy…
We find your article as per the STUDIO TIMES BULLETIN - JUNE 2009 beautifully written and well worth publicizing further and would appreciate if you could therefore be so kind as to grant us permission to publish same on our travel blog…this I am sure as you would understand will quite obviously be mutually beneficial to both our organizations.

ReplyDeleteDear Nadine,
Thank you for your email and your appreciative comments.
The band of photographers/travellers/explorers at Studio Times, although focused on commercial photography to bring in the bread, spend what would be used for butter (there is never any jam for us!), on building up an Archive of Photographs of Sri Lanka. This Archive is used not only for commercial purposes and documentation purposes, but also to create an awareness and appreciation of this country and its wonderful heritage as a forerunner to its conservation. The Studio Times Bulletin is produced monthly with this aim in mind.
Therefore we are very happy to agree to your request to publish this bulletin on your travel blog as it would reach another segment of people. Please be good enough to publish the bulletin unedited and in its entirety.
Thanking you,
Yours sincerely,
Anu
